Blogging & Business Goals For 2011
This year I have set my goals to achieve them 3 at a time. Have you had time to sit down and think about a few goals you'd like to make reality? It is so inspiring to see others really tackling what they want to accomplish.
I'm joining in 3 In 30 (a group I co-created with Ashley Pichea) to help make achieving these goals more manageable. My goals for January are all family/household related. But I do have several blogging and business goals for 2011 I'd love to share with you.
1. Writing - Content Development - I have so much to improve in this area I feel. I'd love to improve my writing skills and content development by creating a more "original" brand. I'd love to do some series on parenting, prayer, and homeschool. These three topics are my passion. I have several books that I'd like to highlight in these series such as: "Praying The Scriptures For Your Children", "Power Of A Praying Wife", and many others. There are blogs out there that I love to read that do help with providing strategies for bringing higher quality to your blog - SavvyBlogging , Amy Lynn Andrews, and ProBlogger.
2. Productivity Goals - Honestly? I feel that I manage my productivity goals and tasks well. I am a very organized person who can stay on task and get things accomplished. I feel most stressed when I don't get things completed. I would love to be more productive in making a better effort to visit new blogs. To be in touch with people I don't already know through their writing.
3. Business Goals - I'd love to bring more traffic to my site. Ive been blogging since 2009 and more consistently since early 2010, so I feel it's time to make the next step in my blog happen. What is that? I'm not sure. I currently am using a few affiliate links, but am I using the right ones or the ones that make most sense to me and my blog? Could I be doing better through affiliate links somewhere else? Ive experimented with ad placement in the past. I've tried above the fold, sidebars, footer ads, and everything in between. Right now, I only offer sponsorship spots on the right sidebar in the form of 150X150 and 125X125. I will be adding text link sponsorship as well in just a few weeks. I'm wanting to hear from others on what affiliate programs have worked for them and sponsorship tips they've had that they could share with others, like myself.
Another business goal for this year and early into next year is to write an e-Book. I love reading e-Books by some of my favorite bloggers, but I would love to create one myself. I know how to create it, but I'm still working out the details on "what" and "when". But I'm excited to have that as one of my goals for 2011.
I have several partnership opportunities up my sleeve that I'm really excited to share with you later on in the year. You'll love them!
My "word" for my blog for the year of 2011? Growth. Growth in relationships. Growth in content. Growth in connections. Growth in business. Growth in productivity. Growth in writing. And I'm ready to start taking steps towards that Growth.
I really am hoping to make it to SavvyBlogging Summit this year in July to make all these "goals" more of a reality. I feel I could learn a great deal from this conference and there are speakers there that I'd love to hear in person. So, I'm crossing my fingers I get accepted - What an amazing birthday gift, and first conference to attend!
